Welcome to my website, and thanks for checking it out. My name is Lorraine Murphy, and I love animals, travel, and my crazy career as a cybersecurity journalist.

I’m an experienced pet-sitter and house-sitter who has been at this full time since 2012, part-time off and on for decades. I offer house sitting, pet sitting (live in), dog walking, drop-in cat care, and even hobby farm or B&B/Inn management

Prices start at $30 per day, which includes care for one pet: generally it’s $10 per additional pet but it varies by the amount of care the pets need. Fish, for instance, are $10 a tank, not $10 each. Additional responsibilities are negotiable, and long-term bookings are eligible for a discount.

À la carte dog walking is $20 per hour, dog walk/running is $30 per hour. Cat drop-in care is $20 per visit.

About me: responsible, non-smoking, non-partying Vanity Fair journalist. Former innkeeper, former horse and dog trainer. Human and veterinary first aid training. Self-starter.

References out the wazoo after years of doing this professionally. Experience and local references specifically in Alfred, Nepean, the Okanagan, Victoria, Vancouver, Tofino, and Powell River, BC.

50% deposit holds your booking. 25% of the total is due once I arrive, and the remaining 25% the day I leave, unless we make other arrangements in advance. I accept cash,, or email interac e-transfer.

Good afternoon. We are spending a week in Tofino in June and was looking for a pet sitter for a few hours a couple of the days we are going to be there. We have two 13 year old English labs. Very sweet and mellow. I saw you work around Vancouver and Victoria but I was wondering if you could recommend someone. Thanks for whatever help you can send us.

Hi Kara, I hope you see this. I don’t actually know any pet-sitters in Tofino, but the Visitor’s Information Centre is very helpful and might help you find someone. I do pet-sit up in Tofino sometimes but only live-in situations, and they’re generally a week or more.
